Patrice Martinez

Patrice Martinez (born on June 12, 1963) is an American actress. Martinez played the part of the after-life Miss Argentina in Beetlejuice (1988). She received her theatrical education in London and played the role of Carmen in the film, ¡Three Amigos! (1986), and starred in the early 1990s television series Zorro (1990-93).

Career

Outside of her role as the receptionist in Beetlejuice, Martinez is probably best known for playing the part of Carmen in ¡Three Amigos! (1986)

Patrice Martinez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. As a child, she performed in a local theater. She started her screen career as a teenager, working as an extra in the film Convoy (1978), directed by Sam Peckinpah. After high school, when she was eighteen, she moved from Albuquerque to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. She returned to the United States, and soon moved to Los Angeles, California, where she gained her first film experience in A Walk On The Moon (not the 1999 film). She appeared in ¡Three Amigos! in 1986, and later was offered a role in Magnum, P.I. (1980-88) with Tom Selleck. After that, she appeared in other TV series, including Miami Vice (1984-90) and Zorro (1990-93), and also appeared in Beetlejuice (1988), The Effects of Magic (1998), and Vital Signs (1990).

Personal life

She is the sister of Benito Martinez and the daughter of Margarita Martinez-Cannon.

Patrice Martinez also has a sister, Benita, who looks like her but is two years younger. She was also cast in Three Amigos.

Patrice Martinez was married to producer-director Daniel Camhi for several years, and is credited as "Patrice Camhi" in the first two seasons of Zorro (1990-93). She appears as Patrice Martinez from Season Three on. Martinez and Camhi divorced.
