Ghost to Ghost is the 4th episode of season 3.

Cast[]

Plot[]

Delia's Tackyware-Party/Seance unintentionally resurrects Lydia's horror-movie idol Boris Todeoff (pronounced "to death") through his final on-screen appearance The Thing That Ate New Jersey on Rye while Lydia and Beetlejuice are watching the film on their "Monster Movie Madness" night. BJ isn't as thrilled by the deceased actor's visit as Lydia is, and gets caught in a battle of hauntings against Boris, who claims BJ has "gone soft" by refusing to haunt the living in a way that hurts them. Soon, it's revealed Boris is trying to scare the Deetz family out of there house to turn the place into a retirement home for Lousy, Deceased Actors, and it's only a matter of Lydia choosing between her best friend and her favorite performer if Beetlejuice is to find a creative way to turn the tables on Boris!

Trivia[]

  • Boris' film appearances include: Nights of Whining and Dead Roses, Monster Marshmallows from Miami, Water Way to Go, Revenue Rutabagas from Outer Space, Gone with the Wind-bag (at least according to BJ), Goodbye Ghoul, I Give Up and, of course... The Thing that Ate New Jersey on Rye.
  • In this episode, it is revealed that when Beetlejuice gets really upset, he hangs upside-down. This is explained by his comment, "You bat I am;" bats do this as a method of self-pacification while they sleep.
  • The character, Boris Todoeff, is a spoof of the legendary horror movie actor Boris Karloff.
