David Finley is a veteran Television Screenwriter and Story Editor, Writer/Director/Producer of an award-winning Short Film, a Dora Award-winning Playwright and a published Author of Short Fiction. In 1996 he received a Gemini Award nomination for Best Writing in a Children's or Youth Program. In 2003 he was the recipient of an Award of Excellence from The Alliance for Children and Television. In 2005 he wrote, directed and produced a 21-minute film, "My Last Confession", which screened at 41 International Film Festivals and won several awards. In 2004 he tried his hand as a Playwright, winning the 2005 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Musical for "Aladdin" and receiving a Nomination for the same award in 2006 for "Snow White and the Group of Seven." He wrote, directed and produced the 2009 Toronto Fringe Theatre Festival hit comedy, "Donny's Day." In 2012 he moved to St John's, Newfoundland, to accept a full-time position as Head Writer and Director of Development with Best Boy Entertainment. Best Boy and Telefilm are developing his very original zombie comedy feature screenplay, "The Deadleys".
He's a writer of Beetlejuice: The Animated Series and is also known for his other works, such as Babar, Rupert, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, T and T, Side Effects, Captain Star Flying Rhino Junior High, RoboRoach, Save My Pet and others.
